“Above all else, I am a family man who’s proud to call Trumbull home. When it comes to my real estate career, nothing gives me more personal satisfaction than helping other families throughout this great community with their home buying and selling needs. It’s what motivates me to be my best every day.”

The crowd is boisterous and loud, and Jay Cannone is right in the middle of it, smiling from ear to ear as the referee lifts Cross Cannone’s arm high in the air after a stunning wrestling pin clinched his match, earning him the State Championship. Earlier in the week, Jay proudly listened as his eldest son, John, played a beautiful new composition he wrote on the piano. The following day, he drove several hours to watch his daughter, Nicole, perform in a singing showcase, and the next day, the family went to the local high school game to watch her in action as a cheerleader. That was right after a long phone conversation with his second eldest son, Kyle, who told Jay all about his political aspirations now that he’s graduated from The Catholic University of America and is continuing to pursue his law degree.

A Very Proud Papa

These moments, along with many other wonderful family memories, speak volumes about Jay’s commitment to his wife, Stephanie, and their four children. He’s proud to see how they’ve grown so quickly and are pursuing their own opportunities in life. Throughout every step of their journeys, you can be sure that Jay is there, urging them on and providing every ounce of support and encouragement possible.

Family Ties

When you get to know Jay, it’s abundantly clear that family comes first. Even his career as Trumbull’s leading real estate professional reflects his family ties and bonds with the community, having lived here since 1976. Jay learned a lot about life and business from his father, John Cannone, who was one of a premier local agent in is own right. Jay always remembers his sage words of wisdom: “There’s no secret to how you succeed in real estate,” he said. “It’s very simple. You must work hard and be straight with your clients. As long as you follow that simple lesson, everything else will fall into place.”

Furthering the Legacy

Jay believes that he is carrying on a Tradition of Excellence, and brings his extensive work ethic to every move.

Jay followed in his father’s footsteps, earning his real estate license and beginning his career at the age of 19. Within two years, he was already managing his own office. Now, more than 30 years later, Jay continues to expand on his family legacy and take things to the next level at every opportunity. A lot has changed in the Fairfield County market over the past three decades—new development, advances in technology, bigger swings in the real estate cycle. But through it all, Jay’s passion for his business has never wavered. In fact, it’s clear to say it has only grown stronger day after day and year after year.
